The Nadaleen Trend is a recently discovered, 25 kilometer long trend of mineralization along the northern margin of the Selwyn Basin in east-central Yukon. The regional geologic framework and style of mineralization are both analogous to the Carlin trend in Nevada. The Nadaleen Trend is bound structurally to the south by the regional scale Dawson Thrust and the Kathleen Lakes Fault to the. Gordy2, G. Stewart2. ABSTRACT. In the Rocky Mountain Foothills, major oil and gas accumulations occur in the folded and faulted leading edges. Active faults are also well known in the Olympic Peninsula west of the Puget Lowland (e.g., Carson, ; Nelson et al., ).Perhaps best known of these is the Saddle Mountain fault, with a surface trace initially reported to extend ~8 km (Figs.

2 and 3; Carson, ; Wilson, ; Hughes, ; Witter and Givler, ).Several issues warrant a closer look at the Saddle Mountain fault and Cited by: Geology is a science of such rapid growth that no apology is expected when from time to time a new text-book is added to those already in the field.

The present work, however, is the outcome of the need of a text-book of very simple outline, in which causes and their consequences should be knit together as closely as possible,—a need long.

Many of the fossil marine vertebrates reported by Leidy () are either now known to derive from the Goose Creek Limestone, based upon subsequent discovery of similar fossils (e.g., beaked whale Tusciziphius crispus, Post et al., ), or are identical to fossils from the coeval Lower Pliocene Yorktown Formation at the Lee Creek Mine in.

NATURAL ADVANTAGES. Perhaps no other county in Indiana has a greater diversity of natural features than Warren. On the north and west are alluvial plains, as rich and productive as any on the globe, while bordering the Wabash and the various smaller streams that traverse the county, are vast beds of the finest building sandstone and the choicest block coal.

In geology, zircon is used for radiometric dating of zircon-bearing rocks (using isotopes of U which is often present as an impurity element, as is Th, radiogenic Pb, Hf, Y, P, and others).
